Step 3. Save your work and upload all necessary files

Now you are ready to save the PHP (ASP) page which contains both your PHP (ASP) code and the HitLens tracking script. Upload it to your server. Also do not forget to upload the file "tracking.js" to the root directory of your site where you keep the home page (on the hosting server, this directory may be named "htdocs", "public_html" or "www"). If you do not use the Wizard to insert the tracking code, you need to find the file "external.js" in the folder

C:\Program files\Web CEO\BIN

( we assume Web CEO is installed in the "Program files" folder on drive C: )

and upload it to the root of your site as "tracking.js".

Now, when a visitor purchases an LG monitor, your PHP / ASP script assigns the appropriate values to the variables, then writes them to the HitLens tracking JavaScript and outputs this HitLens Javascript into the visitor's browser (already with the correct transaction parameters).

When the visitor's browser executes the JavaScript, it sends these data to the Seo Software's Database, where it is stored in the database and is shown to you when you look at the HitLens reports in Web CEO.

You will be able to see the visits and transactions statistics a few moments after the first transaction takes place on your site.

What you should remember

  1. Dynamic sites use scripts that are executed on the server and that form the output sent to the user’s browser. Dynamic technologies are usually implemented with sites that handle many transactions and use databases to store and retrieve data, mostly commercial sites or sites that require user registrations.
  2. With dynamic sites, the tracking code is pre-populated by the server-side script on the server before being sent to the browser. When the browser receives the tracking code, the latter already contains the transaction details.
